How to use Paddle test cards
Paddle’s sandbox is a separate account on a separate host. You sign up for it on its own, it has its own API keys and webhook endpoints, and nothing in it touches your live account. Point your integration at the sandbox API base URL, create products and prices there, and open a checkout with a sandbox client token.
At the checkout enter one of the cards above with any name and a future expiry. The “initial success, subsequent decline” card is the useful one for subscriptions: it lets you watch a renewal fail and see exactly which events Paddle sends while it retries.
Live cards are refused in sandbox, and sandbox cards are refused live, so a card that works in one place and not the other is telling you which environment you are actually connected to.
Testing an affiliate programme on Paddle
Once a sandbox purchase goes through, test the referral path the same way: click a referral link, buy with a successful card, and check that the transaction arrives credited to the affiliate. Refgrow connects to Paddle with a sandbox or live API key, reads completed transactions and subscription events, and credits commissions automatically. How the Paddle integration works.
